College Financial Network, Inc.
We work with high school students and their parents who face the daunting and stressful task of planning and paying for college.
We work with a wide variety of families. They range from the “Do – It – Yourself(ers)” to the “YOU DO IT FOR ME” families, who don’t have the time, don’t feel competent to do it, or are too stressed out to tackle college planning on their own and families anywhere in between. Some of our families are just looking for a “quick fix” and others want the “BEST” for their child and WANT the MOST COMPLETE services we have to offer. For those families we offer our unique “VIP” College Coaching Program.
Our individual coaching strategies are aimed at “middle class” and “affluent” parents with students who have a GPA of 3.2 or better on a scale of 4.0. Our group coaching and self study programs are useful for ALL parents of college bound high school students.
Are you facing similar challenges like these parents?...
1) “When I look at the cost of colleges I go into shock! I know how much my husband and I make in a year, and how much we have saved for my son’s education. How are we going to pay for his college and NOT GO BROKE?”
2) “I see the number of colleges out there, how is anyone supposed to pick just one? And does it really make any difference which one my daughter picks? One college is as good as another!”
3) “ Everyone I talk to tells me something different about planning for college. How do I sort out the truth from fiction? My lifestyle doesn’t allow enough time to read a “bunch of books” or visit “100’s” of websites, we’re too busy being a taxi service for our other kids!”
4) “My son seems lost in the process. I know he’s met with his guidance counselor, but we don’t know what’s going on or what we should do next. The more I question him the more he closes up and gets more frustrated.”
5) “All the applications and the financial aid forms seem so confusing to me. Isn’t there an easier way to do this? I don’t remember my parents doing all this when I went to college!”
6) “Everyone is telling me I make too much money to get financial aid. But no one is telling me how to REDUCE my out of pocket costs for college or showing me a way to SHAVE OFF SOME DOLLARS. All I see myself doing is writing a check for the full amount. There’s got to be a better way!”
7) “I always thought my son would get a FULL RIDE ATHLETIC SCHOLARSHIP to pay for college. Now that he’s a senior I’m finding out that won’t be the case. I wish someone told me the truth when he was a freshman or sophomore, that very few athletes get full scholarships!”
Our clients sleep at night knowing they are getting the “correct” answers to those type of problems and much more. They know that surprises should be saved for their birthdays…NOT when PLANNING for THEIR child’s college education!
“Clients are likely to be successful working with us if…”
· They are COACHABLE. Our clients possess a willingness to fo
llow instructions. They recognize the value of working with a Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS) who knows the “insider secrets” of the college game that is not shared by most CPA’s or financial planners. And with less than 600 CCPS’s in the country that possess this unique specialization they are eager to follow our directions, accounting for ALL steps in the recommended sequences. This will give the family the much desired results they are seeking.
· Our clients have a desire to see their child be successful, not just in getting into the “right” college, but also to see it through to the ultimate goal…graduation. And to graduate in the shortest time possible.
· They have a desire to spread their assets evenly for all of their children and to avoid the pitfalls which result in them unwittingly “spending ALL of their MONEY on their FIRST CHILD!”
· Our clients are familiar with the internet and are open to receiving email knowing that much of our recommendations are delivered through this media due to its speed. They are willing to keep us apprised of their progress and that of their student and actually take pride in the accomplishment of each completed assignment on the road to college. They share in the success of their students just as any proud parent would be. We encourage open communication between us and the parent and student. Our clients find this reassuring and it reduces their stress.
· Our clients are disciplined, goal oriented, time sensitive, proactive and results driven.
